THE SAKURA TREE
The Cherry Blossom offers important symbolism to many cultures and religions around the world.
The Cherry Blossom, or Sakura in the Japanese language, holds great importance for the Japanese people. The Sakura tree symbolises new beginnings and hope.
For the Chinese culture, Cherry Blossom is a symbol of empowerment.
Similarly, Buddhists hold the Sakura tree in high esteem, as it symbolises working towards self-knowledge, enlightenment and wisdom.
For this reason, I have chosen the name Sakura. I passionately believe that through Play and the Creative Arts, children can gain an understanding of self and be empowered to fulfil their full potential in all aspects of their lives.
